HOUSING
Keep your feathered friends happy with a wonderful Nestera (previously known as Green Frog Designs) chicken house. Made almosty entirely from recycled plastic, their chicken coops are not only environmentally friendly, but thoughtfully designed to ensure low maintenance, all year round.
We have a number of houses set up for you to look at. If you would like to order a house, please call ahead to check stock availability as stock changes daily. Alternatively we can arrange shipment direct to your door free of charge.
All houses can be fitted with an automatic door opener such as the Chicken Guard, to give you peace of mind by providing protection for your chickens against predators, as well as letting them out in the morning and shutting them away at night.
In addition, Nestera have a number of accessories which can be added including removable wheels to easily move your coop to a different spot, extendable runs (raised large coop only) and a wifi camera.
Raised Chicken Coop
The Nestera Raised Chicken Coop raises the coop 45cm off the ground. This provides extra protection from predators, a sheltered space for all weather conditions, increased air flow around the coop, and makes it even easier to collect eggs and clean the house. The Coop is available in small, medium, or large to accommodate up to 8 large chickens or 15 bantams.

More space for your chickens
The nest box is cleverly located on the side of the coop to provide even more internal space for your chickens. The coop has either one or two nest boxes and one or two removable wooden perches, depending on size.
Fox-resistant design
The door has been designed to keep your chickens safe from predators; it’s too small for foxes to gain entry and can either be opened manually or with an automatic door opener. The raised design of the coop further protects your hens from foxes and burrowing predators.
Easy access and cleaning
Quick-release pins allow the nest box lid to be easily removed for access to your freshly laid eggs. The back door detaches in the same way to allow access for cleaning. The smooth plastic floor allows dirt to be swept away in seconds. For more thorough cleaning, the roof detaches easily to provide even further access, and more stubborn dirt can be removed using a hose or pressure washer. Unlike wooden coops, plastic dries in minutes, which is particularly useful in winter.
Ventilation
Our poultry products feature adjustable air vents to provide the chickens with constant air flow, preventing respiratory issues and reducing moisture content within the coop. At least one vent should be open permanently.
Assembly
This product is delivered flat-packed and can be quickly assembled by following the comprehensive instructions in the user guide, or by watching our assembly YouTube video- you should allow about an hour for this if it is the first time you have assembled one of our coops. Most parts are held together using clips made from our own waste plastic, though quick release clips (linch pins) and some other parts are metal. The house features carry handles on the roof so it can be easily moved around a garden once assembled. If you ever need to relocate your coop to a different address, it is just as easily dismantled and will not be damaged during the process.
